G & S: The Mikado PREVIEW
17th February 2008

Gilbert and Sullivan Society will be performing The Mikado at the Northcott theatre in three weeks. The Mikado is a highly entertaining operetta, following the story of Nanki-poo, a young Japanese man who arrives in the town of Titipu in search of his love, only to find that she is to be married that afternoon. His despair creates an opportunity for the Lord High Executioner to complete his quota of executions, yet Nanki-poo’s neck is saved in a dramatic twist of fate.

You’re bound to enjoy the witty dialogue, action, and lively music of this classic operetta. With a dedicated directorial team and talented cast, and tickets at only £5 for students, give it a go and support the Northcott as well as G & S – who are celebrating their fortieth anniversary with this production.

The Mikado, Exeter Northcott, 10-15 March. Tickets available from www.exeternorthcott.co.uk or Devonshire House on Mon 3, Wed 5, Fri 7 March 12-2pm.
