For EUTCo’s Week 8 show, director Jude Christian (House of Bernada Alba) returns with co-director Georgina Ower to bring this masterful political farce to the M&D Room.
Accidental Death of an Anarchist, by Dario Fo, is based on the true story of a railway worker arrested and questioned as an anarchist by the Italian police, mysteriously ‘falling’ to his death from the fourth storey window of the Milan police headquarters a few hours later. The play is still painfully relevant today, exploring issues such as government corruption, political murder, and the rights of the individual in matters of national security.
Despite its powerful message, Accidental Death is a hilarious story, following the adventures of a maniac who infiltrates the police headquarters and begins to make his own enquiries as to what really happened to the unfortunate anarchist.
Producer Kelvin Fawdrey says, “the show promises to be an evening of fun and merriment, complete with chase scenes, stand-up, more facial hair than you can shake a stick at, and a false false legâ€.
